Kaseir Archie is a senior at William W. Bodine High School of International Affairs in Philadelphia. He serves on the Youth Advisory Board of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The alliance is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity and helping children develop lifelong healthy habits. Kaseir also is an accomplished student participating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and plays ice hockey in the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation program. Steve Bandura is a recreation leader with the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation. In 1993, Mr. Bandura founded the Jackie Robinson Baseball League, an intramural instructional league for children between 6 and 10 years old. Two years later, he founded the Anderson Monarchs travel sports program, whose players have captured numerous city championships in baseball, basketball, and soccer. Several of his Monarch players participated on the Taney Dragons team that finished second for the U.S. title in the 2014 Little League World Series. Jeffrey Brown is a fourth-generation grocer and the founder, president, and CEO of Brown’s Super Stores, Inc., which owns 11 ShopRite stores in the Philadelphia area and has a partnership with two additional stores in Baltimore. He has been recognized for his work in improving access to healthy foods in communities that are underserved. In recognition of his work, Mr. Brown was invited by the first lady, Michelle Obama, to be a guest at President Obama’s 2010 State of the Union address. Mr. Brown is also the founder and chairman of UpLift Solutions, a nonprofit organization that supports food businesses, government, and nonprofits in efforts to create sustainable community environments. Edgar Chinchilla serves as an Einstein Healthcare Network medical interpreter for patients who have difficulty communicating in English. He was born in Guatemala. Laura Romano is director of Volunteer, Chaplaincy, Language and Cultural Services for Einstein. She oversees 11 trained interpreters who provide support in languages including Spanish, Korean, Russian, Cambodian, and American Sign Language. Mr. Chinchilla became an interpreter on Ms. Romano’s team in 2010. About our leaders 30
