Division Director for Chronic Disease Prevention Philadelphia Department of Public Health 2017 Health Leader Dear Dr. Bettigole, I have come to believe that smoking is bad for you. For example, a person should stop smoking because you can get lung cancer. In your article, you said children can have a healthier lifestyle by eating healthy food, exercising, and getting good sleep. They can reduce stress by playing sports or listening to music. I believe you make a difference because you can give people the right medical care. Your work makes me want to be a doctor and help more people. Thank you for saving people’s lives. Yours truly, Jaylynne Reyes, fifth grade William Cramp Fit Flyer Cathy Markey, R.N., M.S.N. Trauma Prevention and Outreach Coordinator Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia 2017 Health Leader Dear Ms. Markey, I think that you are amazing to take care of kids and adults with serious head injuries. I think that being a nurse like you is hard work because you work many hours trying to help patients that are suffering. Do you ever get tired while you’re working? I ask that because one day I want to be a nurse like you. Also, you try to keep children in school from getting injured. You go to so many schools and tell so many children to stay safe and be careful. It is so cool that you go to so many places to keep kids safe. Honestly, I think that would take up most of your day. Finally, you try to get people to avoid roughness in the sports they play. Your work makes me want to become a nurse like you. I want to help people who are suffering. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and helping to prevent injuries. Yours truly, Mya Aziz, fifth grade Eisenhower Healthy Panther Letters to leaders 31
