Families taste-test healthy snacks

Cole Manor recently hosted Healthy NewsWorks to conduct a workshop for families that focused on nutritious snacks.

The workshop was led by Amy Deahl-Greenlaw, a registered dietitian nutritionist. Families participated in a taste-test activity where they made and reviewed several snacks. The results are in the table above.

Pumpkin Yogurt Dip

What You’ll Need
• 1 cup of low-fat vanilla yogurt
• 2 tablespoons of 100% orange juice
• 1⁄4 cup of canned pumpkin
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 bunch grapes
Let’s Cook!
1. Mix together yogurt, juice, pumpkin, and cinnamon.
2. Dip grapes into pumpkin mixture. 
Serves 4

Fruit Fizzies

What You’ll Need
• 8 oz. or more seltzer water
• Splash of 100% juice (choose your favorite—orange, apple, grape, etc.)
Let’s Cook!
Add a splash of your favorite 100% juice to seltzer water. Enjoy!
Serves 1
