Discovering what the heart does
April 4, 2024

By Healthy Trailblazer Journal reporters | Ms. Diana’s kindergarten cub reporters learned about the heart by reading the book Hear Your Heart by Paul Showers.

They learned that a heart’s job is to pump blood all around your body. The book explained that you can feel your heart beating by putting two fingers on your neck or on your wrist. You are feeling your pulse.

The reporters sat down and felt their pulses. They said they noticed their hearts beat slowly. Then, they ran in place for about 30 seconds and took their pulse again. This time their pulse was much faster, like a cheetah’s.
