March 2020…The coronavirus has affected my friends and me.
Norristown schools, like many across the world, closed to prevent spread of the virus. Now, in addition to not going to school, I can’t go with friends to eat or to play sports. Also, I probably won’t have my birthday party like normal.
I think the government should only allow people to go out to get food and other essential things to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic from getting worse. My family bought a lot of supplies like food, water, and medicine, in case the state government doesn’t let us go out for a long period of time.
My parents’ companies have asked employees to work from home to prevent further spreading of the virus. I think the U.S. government is doing the right thing now giving single people up to $1,200 and couples up to $2,400 and $500 for each child, according to CNN.
I don’t think governments were doing a good job preventing the spread of the virus. They already knew about COVID-19 before it impacted us, and didn’t prepare well, according to many trustworthy reports in the media.
