Call for nominations: 2019 Health Leaders
July 31, 2018

July 2018… Nominations will be accepted until August 24 for Philadelphia-area health leaders to be featured in our eighth student-written and -illustrated book.

Our special focus this year will be on health and the environment. Nominees can be scientists, community planners, doctors, nurses, artists, health advocates, farmers, educators—anyone who is helping to create a healthier environment for children and adults.

In addition, your nominee should be someone who:
– Demonstrates commitment to making the community a healthier place to live.
– Has distinguished himself or herself in his or her chosen field or profession.
– Serves as a role model for how individuals can improve children’s lives.

Our students, teachers, and board members will select the interviewees based on the above criteria. Those leaders selected to be interviewed for the book will not receive any compensation, financial, or otherwise.

We expect the leaders as a group will represent a diverse cross-section of the Philadelphia region and will serve to inspire students in elementary and middle schools and their families.

To nominate someone, please send an email to editor@HealthyNewsWorks.org by August 24, 2018. Be sure to include your nominee’s name, contact information, a brief description of why he or she merits consideration, and a website or other source of additional information about the nominee.
