Justin Campbell joins Healthy NewsWorks board
December 3, 2017

December 2017 … Healthy NewsWorks is pleased to welcome Justin Campbell, a strategic operations manager at Comcast Corp., as a new member of its board.

Justin is a certified public accountant and earned a B.B.A. cum laude from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. He is active in several community organizations and is an alumnus of St. Raymond of Penafort Catholic School, an Independence Mission School that participates in Healthy NewsWorks.

“I was initially attracted to how well the mission of Healthy NewsWorks aligned with two passions of mine, education and health,” Justin said. “I think that increased attention to childhood literacy and health are critical areas of need in Philadelphia, especially in communities of color.”

He said he was impressed by the student newspapers he saw on the Healthy NewsWorks website and then had had the opportunity to observe a classroom. “When I saw the level of engagement from the students, I knew that I wanted to become actively involved with the organization,” he said.

Justin said he looks forward to helping Healthy Newsworks expand to more schools in the city and the surrounding region. “The more that I can help a program like Healthy NewsWorks grow, the more youth that can be exposed to opportunities to transform the health of their communities,” he said.

“We’re excited about the multiple skills Justin brings to our board,” said Marian Uhlman, executive director of Healthy NewsWorks. “His business acumen and his commitment to the community will make a big difference, and it’s especially meaningful that he has a direct connection to one of our member schools.”
