May 25, 2017

May 2017…We are pleased to announce the top 10 posters of the 2017 “Play Well/Preparing for a Healthy, Active Life” Poster Contest. Elementary and middle school students in Healthy NewsWorks schools in Norristown, Philadelphia, and Upper Darby were invited to illustrate healthy activities for children.  Art teachers from La Salle Academy, Highland Park Elementary School, William Cramp Elementary School, and AMY Northwest also integrated the contest into their classrooms. Posters had to demonstrate one of the following healthy habits:

  • Exercise 60 minutes a day
  • Break a sweat: Exercise
  • Sleep 9 to 12 hours a day if you’re between 6 and 12 years old
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Bounce back from a setback
  • Eat foods with calcium and Vitamin D to build strong bones
  • Reduce stress in your life

Volunteers from QuestCares (Quest Diagnostics’ Corporate Social Responsibility program) in Horsham judged the more than 300 entries from eight schools on the healthy habits theme, creativity, artistic quality, and neatness. They chose the top 10 posters across all schools, which you can view below:
