Fifth graders interview Dental Hygiene program director
April 29, 2016

April 2016…Fifth grade student reporters from William Cramp Elementary School recently had the chance to interview Theresa Grady, Dental Hygiene program director at Community College of Philadelphia (CCP), as part of the Healthy NewsWorks Healthy Smiles initiative focusing on dental health. Read more about the interview (CCP website).

Community College of Philadelphia’s Dental Hygiene program prepares its students to become oral health clinicians and educators.  The Healthy NewsWorks reporters also had the opportunity to tour the College, its dental hygiene clinic, and talk to its dental hygiene students.

Both Healthy NewsWorks and the College are excited about the new partnership.  It allows the College to expand its presence with younger audiences and share the opportunities it provides, and allows Healthy NewsWorks’ reporters access to more health professionals.  “We are really excited for the opportunity to have our student reporters engage with experts from Community College of Philadelphia,” said Marian Uhlman, director of Healthy NewsWorks. “The College staff and students were incredibly helpful, well-informed, and inspiring to our young reporters.”
