University of the Sciences to display heart-healthy posters on April 23
April 16, 2014

April 2014…On Wednesday, April 23, the University of the Sciences will host an exhibition of heart-healthy posters created by students in Healthy NewsWorks’ schools.  The posters were submitted for the healthy-heart poster contest, an initiative of the Healthy NewsWorks Healthy-Heart Program.  Andrea Kenyon, a health literacy expert with Healthy NewsWorks, organized members of the University of the Sciences’ Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) Student Chapter to help judge the heart-healthy poster submissions and arrange the art exhibit.

The PPAG, a national organization, is comprised of pediatric pharmacy practitioners that strive to optimize drug therapy in children. The University of the Sciences student chapter raises awareness about pediatric health needs and the pharmacys’ role in addressing those needs on campus and in the community. Its members focus on community service events where they can directly serve the pediatric population.  The University of the Sciences students who helped to judge the posters included Aisha Uddin, Julian Kam, Rushita Patel, Rachel Oyewole, Fatima Ali, Priya Panchal, Sophia Khan, and Kimmy Nguyen.

The art exhibit will take place on:
