June 2012… Hope Partnership for Education’s sixth grade newspaper team produced four issues during its first year as a Healthy NewsWorks program.
In the fourth issue of the Healthy Hope, several reporters thanked the school for reading their articles and being interviewed for various stories. Here are the letters published in the June issue:
Dear Readers,
Working for the Healthy Hope has been a fun experience doing something that I thought I would never do. I never even thought about writing for a newspaper. But I enjoyed it. I learned new things, met new people, visited new places, and enjoyed myself. The Healthy Hope has brought our class together a little bit and showed us how to work together and what hard effort can do. Have a great summer.
Sincerely,
Donnell Blackson

Dear Readers,
I am writing because I want our readers to know that we liked being on the staff of the Healthy Hope. It taught us to be safer and healthier. Thank you for supporting us. I really appreciate it.

Dear Readers,
My experience being part of the Healthy Hope was great. I learned new things such as how to write better and how to interview in a professional way.
During the year, I loved going out interviewing about junk food, safety, and other issues. Thank you for taking the time to read our articles. Our staff worked hard to complete all of the newspapers. Also thanks for letting us interview you and getting your feelings about different situations.
In my opinion, we changed many lives, did a good job working on deadlines, and illustrated good pictures to go with some of the articles. Thanks for showing respect to us as we have tried to show respect for you.
Sincerely,
Ahmeer Johnson
