Teachers, students share perspectives
May 22, 2011

May 2011…Participating students and teachers describe how the Healthy NewsWorks program works and what it means to them in a new six-minute video.

The video was produced by Victoria Strickland, a former TV writer and producer for NBC Universal WCAU.  She joined the East Norriton Middle School teaching staff in the fall 2010 and also became a faculty coadvisor for the East Norriton Bulldog Bulletin along with Lydia Hoag.

“With the current trend of obesity skyrocketing in our nation, I think teaching our young people healthy eating and exercise habits is more important than ever,” said Mrs. Strickland, who donated her expertise to produce the video. “I am thrilled to be a part of a program that is reaching out and doing just that.”

The video features students and teachers from the Norristown Area School District in Norristown, Pa. Healthy NewsWorks has partnered with Norristown schools since 2006.
